To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Ridley Scott’s groundbreaking sci-fi horror film ALIEN (1979), six visionary filmmakers were selected to bring their Alien-inspired stories to life. Vancouver based directors Kailey and San Spear were chosen as one of the 6 and I was invited by them to work on the film's motion graphics and to create the movie poster.
We sent 20th Century FOX the best 2 ideas from a total of 6, one being more abstract and the other requiring some original shots. I took off to the mountainous Squamish BC for the photoshoot, using a popular outdoor climbing wall as the backdrop. I was able to source the actress' costume for my model (action shots below). The stills were taken into Photoshop for treatment and edited to create the above, to create imagery that gives the feelings of claustrophobia and isolation.
