Branding for Indie Filmaker

I was approached by Director and Producer Ali Lundblad, who worked on Nathaniel Arcand’s directorial debut 'Sister, Daughter' winning Best Live Short at the American Indian Film Festival (AIFI), to assist in her new film production venture ARTHouse7 Films. Ali needed a logo to represent her studio which focuses predominately on First Nation productions.

After a few iterations (some of which you can see below) she liked the idea I had playing on the 'House' element of the company name, by using the historical home of the indigenous of North America: a tipi. I used the negative space from a rising sun to create the outline of the tipi and included some symbols from First Nation artwork.
